Winter Hiking

The Ötztal is not only an Eldorado for skiers. "Winter hikers" also get their money’s worth here in Längenfeld.
You will find managed alpine pastures with toboggan rentals, or cabins with taxi transfers throughout the Ötztal.

Albin Egger Lienz Path

Walk from the Oberlängenfeld Fischbach Bridge or the Fischbach Dam, towards Sulztal via a wooden bridge -> on the other side, continue westward -> cross the main road and follow the left bank of the Fischbach in the direction of the flow until the wooden bridge over the Fischbach ->continue along the narrow pedestrian bridge over the Ötztaler Ache and then the somewhat broader Wirtschaftsweg in the direction of Oberried, until Fahrstraße. Pass the district heating plant over the Ötztaler Ache -> go back via the broad pedestrian way close to the banks of the Ache, and follow it until you reach the camping site.

Begin at the Camping Site Ötztal starting point in Unterlängenfeld and walk to the Oberried street bridge, but do not cross it. Follow the road in the direction of Längenfeld for about 150 m, to the intersection with the dirt road, in the direction of the village Espan und Au. The return route takes you over the Winkelbrücke, but follow the bridge, keeping to the bank of the Ötztaler Ache, until you reach the pedestrian bridge across the Ötztaler Ache, near the Pestkapelle – from here, you head back to the starting point.

Walk through the meadows from the parking area at the end of Gries, all the way to the bridge over the Fischbach – from here, there is a slight incline – after walking for about 1.5 hours, you will reach the serviced Sulztalalm. After a short break to catch your breath, you continue uphill for about 2 km, to another serviced cabin on Amberg (Note the avalanche warning level) – you take the same route back, either on foot, or on a toboggan (toboggans can be hired at both cabins).
